To date, Lucia Linares heads Space Transportation Strategy and Institutional Launches at the European Space Agency (ESA), reporting directly to the ESA Director of Space Transportation.
Through ESA space transportation programmes and activities, member States and industry, Europe offers a range of space transportation capabilities to serve institutional and commercial needs. These capabilities include Europe's Spaceport located in French Guiana, Ariane, Vega, Space Rider, associated ground infrastructure and preparation of the future of European space transportation.
She leads a team notably contributing to preparing programmatic proposals and agreements in space transportation, centralising the procurement of launch services for ESA missions and carrying out launch service market offer and demand intelligence studies. Through the ESA Boost! programme, under her responsibility, ESA promotes new commercial European space transportation service projects for competitiveness, growth and innovation.
