Miguel Ortiz is the deputy head of GEOLOC laboratory in Nantes campus of Gustave Eiffel University (France). He is leading 2 standardization working groups:
- since 2017, the CEN/CENELEC TC5-WG1 namely "Navigation and positioning receivers for road applications",
- and since 2022 the ISO-TC20-SC14-WG8 namely "Downstream space services and space-based applications".
He has now 15 years of experience in the GNSS domain (research / engineering / standardization).
Before joining Gustave Eiffel University, he worked as engineer for 6 years in a company where he developed systems architectures and communication layers for automotive applications. He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanics, automation and engineering in 2001 from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métier.
